Job summary

The Australian National University (ANU) is seeking a highly capable Executive Officer to support the Director Regulatory Affairs and Engagement and the work of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. The role involves strategic advisory, committee secretariat duties and broad administrative support across senior leadership and external stakeholders.

You will collaborate with executives, academics, professional staff and government agencies to advance ANU priorities in a fast-paced environment,

Salary package: $124,392 - $133,017 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full time, continuing

Position overview

The Australian National University (ANU) is seeking a highly capable Executive Officer to support the Director Regulatory Affairs and Engagement, and the work of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.

As the Executive Officer, you will be responsible for providing advice and support towards strategic initiatives; secretariate and communications support to committees across the University; and the provision of administrative support. You will collaborate closely with the offices of senior university executives, academic and professional staff, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to support the delivery of outcomes that align with the University's priorities.

We are looking for a strategic thinker with the ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-profile environment. Your skillset will include:

• Exceptional strategic capacity, and proven ability to exercise judgement and discretion in a high-profile, confidential environment;
• The ability to work at a high level, coordinating multiple tasks rapidly and accurately;
• Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands, whilst maintaining attention to detail and exercising sound judgement while working autonomously and within a team;
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, including confidence and ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders; and
• Knowledge of challenges facing the Australian higher education sector, and the strategic context of the ANU, would be an advantage for this role.
