Job summary

Westpac is seeking an Executive Manager, Group Audit – Data & AI Risk to lead independent assurance across data and AI risk domains. You will shape audit strategy, assess controls, and report to executives and the board, influencing the Group's control environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in audit, assurance, risk management, or control functions in highly regulated environments.
• Deep expertise across data and AI risk disciplines including governance, quality, lineage, metadata, AI governance, and model risk management.
• Ability to assess design and operating effectiveness of controls across complex data, technology, and AI environments.
• Experience reporting to executives and boards and influencing risk decisions.
• Experience leading high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement.
• Strong analytics using data analytics, automation, or AI-enabled techniques (SQL, Python, Alteryx, Copilot).
• Certifications in Data, AI, or Risk domains are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent assurance across data and AI risk portfolios within Group Audit.
• Shape audit strategy and coverage aligned with emerging risks and regulatory expectations.
• Provide oversight across data governance, data quality, AI governance, model risk, and responsible AI.
• Deliver insight-led assurance, identify themes, and influence improvements to the Group’s control environment.
