Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking an experienced General Manager - Home Care to lead a growing retirement living group’s Support at Home arm. Based in Sydney, this executive role offers hybrid work, board access, and a chance to shape strategy, governance and performance from day one.

You will own the home care P&L, safety and care quality, oversee clinical governance, budgets, pricing, and contracts while building a high-performing team across villages and remote care partners.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in nursing or allied health with AHPRA registration where applicable.
• Hands-on clinical experience caring for older people.
• Residential aged care experience, in leadership or management roles.
• Detailed knowledge of the Aged Care Act and Support at Home including budgets and pricing.
• Senior leadership of managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience owning a budget or P&L and building business cases.
• Experience presenting to a Board and reporting to senior leadership.
• Direct dealings with health departments or age care regulators.

Responsibilities

• Set home care strategy and operating plan; prepare Board papers and growth business cases.
• Lead clinical governance including care planning, risk, incidents and audits.
• Own P&L, review pricing with CFO, and manage agency use and margins.
• Oversee Support at Home delivery, including budgets and service agreements.
• Manage client journey from enquiry to exit; rostering and provider contracts.
• Collaborate with village leadership to enforce clinical policy and referral paths.
• Lead and develop a small executive team with two direct reports.
