Job summary

Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service in Far North Queensland is seeking a senior medical leader to develop and deliver the medical services operating plan, aligning workforce, governance and service improvement priorities with strategy and local performance.

You will lead medical participation in clinical governance, credentialing and accreditation processes, drive workforce planning with clinical directors and People and Culture, and support research governance and safe technology

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the medical services operating plan, aligning workforce, clinical governance and service improvement priorities with strategy, service agreement and local performance framework.
• Lead medical participation in clinical governance, credentialing and scope of clinical practice processes, professional standards and accreditation.
• Assign, monitor and evaluate medical improvement actions arising from incidents, complaints, accreditation and external reviews, ensuring timely completion and evidence of sustained improvement.
• Lead medical workforce planning, recruitment, retention, succession and capability development with Clinical Directors, People and Culture, finance and relevant rural medical leaders.
