This is a critical executive leadership position with influence across clinical, operational, and government stakeholders.

About the Role

As the Executive Director Strategy, Planning and Infrastructure Services, you will provide strategic leadership and expert advice to the Health Service Chief Executive (HSCE) and the broader executive. You will be responsible for leading a team implementing the development and delivery of major capital works programs and infrastructure initiatives across the HHS’s vast geographical region.

You will also lead service planning to ensure the alignment of capacity, resources, and workforce to meet future clinical demands in a safe and sustainable way.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major capital projects, ensuring quality, cost, risk, and time objectives are met, and provide high‑level strategic advice on capital and infrastructure planning to the HSCE and Executive.
• Build strong partnerships across Queensland Health, local communities, and external stakeholders.
• Develop, implement, and monitor organisational strategic plans, including the corporate plan, operational plan, and supporting strategies to ensure alignment with short‑ and long‑term strategic goals and drive cohesive, sustained organisational performance.
• Lead the health service’s clinical service planning function, ensuring future demand is rigorously assessed to inform sound and sustainable investment decisions.
• Oversee building, electrical, and maintenance functions across hospital and healthcare sites, including responsibilities for infrastructure asset management.
• Implement and manage the Health Service accommodation strategy, applying best‑practice methodologies to optimise utilisation, functionality, and long‑term planning.
• Oversee environmental sustainability initiatives that reduce the organisation’s carbon footprint, minimise waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
