Job summary

Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) in Melbourne seeks an Executive Director – Legal Practice (EDLP) to lead the Legal Practice with executive accountability for people, performance, and delivery of major functions. The role covers Melbourne and regional Victoria, including Higher Court Appeals and Victims and Witness Assistance Service.

Qualifications

• Outstanding lawyer with proven success in leading strategy and uplifting performance in a large, complex legal practice.
• Ability to build strategic relationships within the criminal justice system to influence reform and outcomes.
• Experience in litigation and prosecutions is preferred; tertiary qualifications in business/management are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Legal Practice within the OPP.
• Oversee people, performance and delivery of functions across the Legal Practice across Melbourne and Victoria.
• Represent the OPP with authority across the Victorian criminal justice system and with key partners.
