Job summary

Etheridge Shire Council in Georgetown, Queensland, invites applications for a Director of Engineering Services to join the Executive Leadership Team and lead a diverse portfolio spanning roads, water, waste, parks, workshop and plant operations, contract services and asset management.

You will balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery, translate complex engineering information into clear advice for the CEO and Council, and drive capital works and DRFA programs while fostering

Qualifications

Senior leadership experience in local government, infrastructure, utilities or related environment preferred.
Extensive experience leading complex infrastructure portfolios and capital investment programs.
Postgraduate qualifications and professional registrations (Engineers Australia or IPWEA; RPEQ) or eligibility are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership across Council's roads and infrastructure, water, waste, parks and gardens, workshop and plant operations, contract services, safety, asset management and major project delivery functions.
Ensure the infrastructure network is well planned, maintained and positioned to support community and economic outcomes.
Translate complex engineering and asset information into clear advice for the CEO, Councillors, staff and contractors.
Lead governance, funding opportunities and stakeholder partnerships to support delivery and sustainability.
Oversee delivery of capital works, DRFA programs and safety improvements across the Shire.
