Job summary

Etheridge Shire Council is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering Services to join its Executive Leadership Team in Georgetown. The role oversees roads, water, waste, parks, workshop and plant operations, and drives major capital works and asset management with a focus on community resilience and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in local government, infrastructure, utilities or a closely related environment.
• Lead complex infrastructure portfolios and capital investment programs.
• Sound judgement, political awareness and strong interpersonal skills.
• Postgraduate qualifications and professional registration (Engineers Australia or IPWEA; RPEQ) highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across Council's roads and infrastructure, water, waste, parks and gardens, workshop and plant operations.
• Lead asset management and major project delivery across a broad portfolio.
• Translate complex engineering and project information into clear, evidence-based advice for the CEO, Councillors, staff and contractors.
