Job summary

The Department of Families, Fairness & Housing in Victoria is seeking an Executive Director, Emergency Management to lead the emergency management functions with strategic authority and cross-government collaboration.

The role will establish strong relationships, advise the Deputy Secretary, the Executive Leadership Team and the Minister, and drive community-focused preparedness, relief and recovery initiatives to strengthen resilience for Victorians.

Qualifications

• Experience in government emergency management and social services sectors.
• Strong strategic leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly influential and authoritative strategic advice and briefings to Ministers, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, senior executives and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the strategic leadership of the Disability, Fairness and Emergency Management Division to achieve objectives and deliver reform agendas.
• Represent the department in high-level discussions and negotiations with the Commonwealth and other jurisdictions, state government departments, external stakeholders and within the department.
