Job summary

Upper Hunter Shire Council seeks a Director Corporate Services to lead the Corporate Services group, including finance, governance, people and culture, information services and commercial operations.

You will report to the General Manager, drive financial sustainability, offer strategic advice on policy, and lead four people leaders while delivering value to the community. A compelling remuneration package will be negotiated.

Qualifications

• Experience leading finance and governance in a public sector or local government.
• Degree qualifications in accounting/finance or a related field; postgraduate management qualifications desirable.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and staff leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee finance, governance, information services and corporate operations including saleyards, airport and property.
• Provide strategic advice to the General Manager, Mayor and Council.
• Build capability and lead four senior managers.
• Ensure financial sustainability and compliance with legislation.
