Job summary

Mingaletta Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Corporation on the Central Coast seeks a values-driven General Manager to lead strategy, governance and day-to-day operations from its Umina Beach base. You will work with the Board to deliver the Strategic Plan 2025–2028, ensuring a trusted, sustainable, community-led organisation that supports health, culture and employment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in community development, business management or not-for-profit management.
• Strong understanding of Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and community engagement.
• Knowledge of governance obligations under relevant Acts and experience working with a Board of Directors.
• Track record of securing funding through grants, tenders, sponsorships or philanthropy.
• Strong financial management, budgeting and reporting skills.
• Proven ability to build productive relationships with Aboriginal communities, government, funders.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and governance: drive the Strategic Plan, advise the Board on governance, risk and compliance, prepare Board papers and annual reports, ensure compliance with relevant Acts and funding agreements.
• Lead with community: build strong relationships with community members, Elders and partners, maintain a welcoming, culturally safe hub, represent Mingaletta at forums.
• Grow financial sustainability: secure grants, sponsorships and partnerships, oversee applications and acquittals, monitor budgets with the Treasurer and financial providers, explore new revenue opportunities.
• Oversee programs and services: coordinate community programs and events, strengthen partnerships across health, wellbeing, culture, education and employment, evaluate outcomes.
• Lead people: support staff and volunteers, foster a positive workplace, lead workforce and succession planning, create pathways for Aboriginal leaders.
• Manage facilities and operations: oversee facilities, assets, policies and records, maintain relationships with Central Coast Council on premises.
