Summit Open Space Services in NSW is hiring a hands-on HR Truck Driver to support construction and plant operations across Maitland and Newcastle. This full-time role offers above‑award wages, weekly pay, allowances and superannuation, with uniforms, PPE and a new fleet of electrical machinery.

You will load, transport and deliver materials, operate 1.7T–8T excavators as required, and perform pre‑start checks while maintaining records and complying with safety policies.

Formación

• HR licence required and current.
• Minimum two years’ truck driving in construction or civil.
• Experience operating 5–8 T excavators desired.
• Excavator competencies and/or VOC.
• White Card or willing to obtain.
• Pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening.
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations.
• Excellent time management and fleet care.

Responsabilidades

• Safely operate trucks to transport materials and equipment to site.
• Load/unload and secure loads; balance and restrain.
• Conduct pre‑start checks and routine vehicle maintenance.
• Maintain delivery records using internal systems.
• Coordinate with site supervisors on delivery schedules.
• Adhere to safety policies and traffic laws.

Duties

As an Excavator Operator/ HR Truck Driver, your key responsibilities will be:

• Safely and efficiently operate trucks to transport materials, equipment and plant machinery to and from construction sites.
• Operating small excavators between 1.7T – 8T as required
• Conduct pre‑operational vehicle checks.
• Comply with all applicable traffic laws, safety requirements and company policies.
• Load and unload materials and equipment safely, ensuring loads are correctly balanced and restrained.
• Maintain accurate delivery records using our internal tracking applications.
• Communicate effectively with site supervisors and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues.
• Perform routine vehicle checks and promptly report any defects or damage.
• Meet required delivery schedules and project timelines.

About You

• Current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence.
• Minimum two years' truck‑driving experience within the construction or civil industry.
• Experience operating 5-8 T excavators desired
• Excavator competencies and/or VOC
• OHS Construction Card (White Card) or willing to obtain.
• Willing to undergo pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening
• Strong knowledge of relevant transport regulations.
• Excellent time‑management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining our fleet.
