Job summary

Penrith City Council is seeking a skilled Event Producer to shape, deliver and grow Penrith City Council’s major events and community events, for a temporary period up to December 2027. You’ll play a crucial role across planning, programming, production, logistics and creative development, bringing Council’s event strategy to life.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in events, marketing, arts management or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in events with project management of major and community events and festivals.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong time management and the ability to adapt to changing environments.
• Knowledge of a broad range of artistic disciplines including visual art, design, music, theatre and dance.
• Local government experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce and deliver events end-to-end.
• Support production and delivery of Real Festival, the flagship event.
• Manage logistics, programming, suppliers, contractors and onsite delivery.
• Build partnerships with artists, creatives and community groups.
• Keep events safe, inclusive and aligned with Council’s strategy.
• Work outside of hours and on weekends pending event delivery.

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in events, marketing, artsmanagement or other related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in the events industry with an understanding of project management of major and community events and festivals
• Demonstrated experience in programming, technical production and infrastructure management for events and festivals
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to prioritise work along with the ability to adapt to changing work situations and environments
• Experience in the development of marketing and promotional campaigns and strategies for events and festivals
• Good knowledge of a broad range of artistic disciplines including visual art, design, music, theatreand dance
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated experience in the arts and cultural industry
• Local government experience
