Job summary

Westpac invites you to join as an Event Manager in Sydney, delivering end-to-end event management for a multi-brand portfolio. You will partner with business divisions and marketing teams to shape event strategy, priorities, and delivery.

This 12-month role requires flexibility to travel, weekends and evenings, with hybrid work after training. The ideal candidate brings proven corporate events experience, large-scale conference delivery, and a strong command of event technologies such as Aventri.

Qualifications

  • Proven corporate events experience, ideally within financial services or a large corporate environment.
  • Track record delivering large-scale, multi-day conferences and managing event budgets exceeding $1M.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to drive event strategies across multiple business units.
  • Creative and commercially minded, with the ability to turn ideas into high-impact event outcomes.
  • Highly organised and tech-savvy, with strong communication skills and experience leveraging digital event platforms and technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency across Microsoft Office and modern event technologies, including digital engagement platforms, webcasting, streaming, webinars, social media and event management systems such as Aventri.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end management of all events in your portfolio to ensure high standards of quality and service.
  • Develop close working relationships with business divisions and marketing representatives to discuss strategies and requirements.
  • Flexibility to travel regularly and at short notice, including weekends and evenings.

Our Events Marketing team provide first class marketing solutions to the Westpac Group, including advice on event marketing strategy and high quality delivery. Our team are focussed on bringing to life the multi-brand strategy, putting the customer at the centre of everything we do and supporting the group's sustainability agenda. You will consistently re-evaluate working practices in terms of efficiency and innovation and seek out and implement new practices where required.

As the Event Manager you will be accountable for the end-to-end management of all events in your portfolio to ensure consistent high standards are maintained in terms of quality and service to internal and external clients. You will develop close working relationships with business divisions, communication and marketing representatives from the specific business units and work with them to discuss strategies, identify priorities and determine their requirements in relation to events.

12-month opportunity based at Kent Street, Sydney, with hybrid working available following training, requiring flexibility to travel regularl and at short notice.

What do I need?
