Job summary

AHS Nursing Agency in Dee Why NSW 2099 is seeking a Disability Support Worker to join a dedicated support team. This casual role offers ongoing shifts, starting with Tuesday 5:00pm – 7:00pm, with potential for additional shifts as rostered.

The role involves supporting a male participant (8 years old) with community access, personal care, and routine activities, with emphasis on safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Disability Support Worker.
• Experience supporting children with Autism, sensory needs, or vision impairments.
• Ability to provide personal care, domestic assistance, and social support.
• Proactive approach to supporting clients to achieve goals and maintain community participation.
• Physically capable of providing safe mobility support and assisting with community access.
• Ability to build rapport with children and create a positive, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Providing support with personal care and daily living activities.
• Assisting with domestic tasks.
• Supporting community access and participation.
• Encouraging safe mobility and confidence while walking.
• Assisting the participant to maintain independence within daily routine.
• Working collaboratively with family members and the broader care team.
• Providing practical support tailored to the participant’s individual needs.
• Following care plans and maintaining accurate documentation.
