Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD in Brisbane is seeking a Manager (Projects) to lead ETCS projects, guiding the delivery of the ETCS program within the SEQ rail network and supporting the Program Director and Executive Director. You will coordinate business case development, governance, and financial planning, while overseeing contracts and stakeholder communications.

Qualifications

Proven ability to lead complex infrastructure projects using structured methodologies, governance, scheduling, risk management and contract oversight.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, recruitment and performance development.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage and coordinate business case development activities for the ETCS Program and Deployment Plan.
Run the ETCS Program Management Office (PMO) with governance, schedules, risks and supplier contracts to deliver on time and budget.
Develop and oversee financial controls, budgeting, forecasting and planning for projects and teams.
Ensure adherence to governance requirements and approval processes.
Maintain key project documentation including cabinet papers and decision briefs.
Oversee contracts and ensure alignment with project objectives and outcomes.
Provide leadership, manage employees and contractors’ performance and development.
Build effective relationships with stakeholders to manage, report and deliver ETCS programs and projects.
Analyze project performance and drive continuous improvement.
