Job summary

SHAPE Australia in Sydney is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the pre-construction team. You will prepare accurate tender estimates, take-offs and qualifications, balancing market insight with buildability.

You’ll lead tender strategy, coordinate with subcontractors, review drawings, and maintain tender records to help win profitable projects across our commercial and refurbishment portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating or quantity surveying.
• Building-related degree, diploma or trade background.
• Strong understanding of construction trades, services and measurement principles.
• Confidence interpreting specifications and drawings for accuracy and buildability.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project, and project delivery systems.
• Collaborative approach with ability to build trusted relationships.
• Positive, accountable mindset with commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and reports to understand scope and buildability & strategy.
• Prepare take-offs, tender estimates and qualifications.
• Conduct site inspections and coordinate requests for subcontractor quotations.
• Analyse subcontractor quotes and recommend suitable subcontractor selections.
• Support tender strategy meetings, bid planning and profit improvement strategies.
• Maintain accurate tender records, project delivery updates and relevant databases.
