Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a market-leading tier 1 contractor delivering electrical distribution infrastructure projects in Western Australia. This Estimator role focuses on cost estimates, tender submissions, and pricing strategies across distribution networks.

You will review drawings, prepare quantities, source supplier quotations, and collaborate with engineering, procurement and delivery teams to identify risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Estimator or similar role in utilities/electrical construction.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and tender documents.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for distribution projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Perform quantity take-offs for labour, materials, plant and subcontractors.
• Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Assist with pricing strategies, planning and construction methodologies.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities during tender prep.
• Support bid submissions, clarifications and client responses.
• Liaise with engineering, procurement and delivery teams during tender process.

Job Description

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for distribution projects


• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documents


• Complete quantity take-offs for labour, materials, plant and subcontractors


• Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations


• Assist with pricing strategies, project planning and construction methodologies


• Identify commercial risks and opportunities during tender preparation


• Support bid submissions, clarifications and client responses


• Liaise with engineering, procurement and delivery teams throughout the tender process

The Successful Applicant

A successful Estimator should have:

• Experience as an Estimator, Junior Estimator or Project Engineer


• Background in utilities, electrical construction or civil infrastructure


• Exposure to electrical distribution network projects highly regarded


• Understanding of overhead and underground electrical infrastructure


• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications


• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
