Job summary

Gyppro Projects in Queensland is seeking an experienced Estimator for commercial ceilings, partitions and carpentry packages. You will read drawings, prepare detailed tenders and manage submissions from start to finish in a full-time, office-based role at our Yarrabilba office.

Ideal candidates have proven estimating experience in commercial plastering, ceilings and partitions, knowledge of steel stud framing and plasterboard systems, and proficient use of take-off software such as Cubit.

Qualifications

Estimator - Commercial Ceilings, Partitions & Carpentry

We are seeking a highly experienced Estimator with a strong background in commercial ceilings and partitions, ideally with additional experience estimating carpentry and fit-out packages. This is a full-time, office-based position suited to someone who understands the industry, can read and interpret construction drawings confidently, and is capable of independently preparing accurate, competitive tenders.

Key responsibilities

Prepare detailed estimates and tenders for commercial ceilings, partitions and carpentry packages.

Complete accurate material and labour take-offs from construction drawings.

Review architectural drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, exclusions and potential variations.

Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.

Prepare competitive pricing submissions and tender breakdowns.

Liaise with builders, suppliers, subcontractors and our internal project team.

Assist with project handovers and procurement where required.

About you

Commercial ceilings and partitions estimating experience is essential.

Proven estimating experience within the commercial plastering, ceilings and partitions industry.

Strong knowledge of steel stud framing, plasterboard systems, suspended ceilings, bulkheads, insulation and acoustic systems.

Experience with commercial carpentry, doors, skirting and internal fit-out packages (highly regarded).

The ability to accurately interpret architectural and construction drawings.

Experience using estimating and take-off software, preferably Cubit.

A solid understanding of construction methodologies, labour productivity and material costs.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

The ability to work independently and manage tenders from start to finish.

Good communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
