Job summary

One Solution Building Services is seeking an experienced Building Estimator / Assessor to join our insurance repairs team across Brisbane and surrounding areas. This hands-on, field-based role involves on-site damage assessments, preparing detailed reports and scopes of work, and delivering accurate repair estimates for major insurers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building estimating and assessing.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials and repair processes.
• Ability to prepare accurate scopes, technical reports and cost estimates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency with computers, estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong work ethic.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Attend properties, assess building damage and prepare documentation for insurance repairs.
• Prepare clear, detailed damage reports, scopes of work and repair estimates.
• Assess repair requirements and identify when specialist advice is needed.
• Ensure reports and estimates are completed accurately and within timelines.
• Communicate professionally with customers, insurers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate job records, photographs and documentation in the job management system.
• Work with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from assessment to repairs.

We're looking for an experienced Building Estimator / Assessor to join our insurance repairs team, working across Brisbane and surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on, field-based role where you'll assess property damage, prepare detailed reports and scopes of work, and develop accurate repair estimates for some of Australia's major insurers.

The Role

You'll be responsible for attending properties, assessing building damage and preparing the documentation needed to progress insurance repairs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conduct on-site building damage assessments across Brisbane and surrounding areas
• Prepare clear, detailed damage assessment reports, scopes of work and accurate repair estimates
• Assess repair requirements and identify when specialist advice or further investigation is needed
• Ensure reports and estimates are completed accurately and within required timeframes
• Communicate professionally with customers, insurers, subcontractors and internal teams
• Maintain accurate job records, photographs and documentation in our job management system
• Work closely with our internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from assessment to repairs
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety, integrity and customer service

About You

We're looking for someone with solid construction knowledge, strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

You'll bring:

• Proven experience in building estimating and assessing
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials and repair processes
• The ability to prepare accurate scopes, technical reports and cost estimates
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Confidence using computers, job management/estimating software and Microsoft Office
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong work ethic
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
• A commitment to following procedures and maintaining high standards of work

Experience in insurance repairs and/or a relevant trade qualification will be highly regarded.
