Job summary

Crawcon Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Estimator for a full-time, permanent position in Sydney. You will review project requirements, read drawings and prepare accurate estimates for materials, labour, and equipment across luxury renovation projects.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential. You will build BOQs, review subcontractor pricing, and support procurement while aligning with the Building and Construction Award standards.

Qualifications

• English communication required (written and verbal)
• Minimum 3+ years estimating experience in residential construction
• Experience with renovations (not just new builds)
• Proficiency with Bluebeam or Wunderbuild (or similar)
• Advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, cost analysis)
• Ability to read architectural, structural drawings and joinery details
• Experience pricing architecturally designed homes
• Experience working with Australian builders
• Experience building BOQs from scratch
• Process-driven mindset

Remuneration: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum, exclusive of superannuation, plus compulsory superannuation and any applicable penalty rates, overtime and allowances

Task & responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team on a full-time, ongoing basis. Working closely with management, the successful applicant will review project requirements, interpret engineering drawings and specifications, prepare accurate cost estimates, and develop quotations for materials, labour, equipment and other project expenses across a diverse range of projects. This role requires strong analytical and organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to assess project costs accurately to support competitive pricing and effective project planning.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for luxury renovation projects

Qualification & experience

Skills and experience required

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
• Strong English communication (written and verbal)
• Minimum 3+ years estimating experience in residential construction
• Experience with renovations (not just new builds)
• Strong understanding of Australian construction method (highly regarded)
• Proficiency in:
  • Bluebeam / Wunderbuild (or similar)
  • Excel (advanced level – formulas, pivot tables, cost analysis)
• Ability to read and interpret:
  • Architectural drawings
  • Structural drawings
  • Joinery details
  • Specifications
• High attention to detail (we work in the luxury market)
