Job summary

Goldsmith seeks an Estimator to lead tender preparation for civil and bulk earthwork projects across Victoria and beyond. You will drive accurate cost estimates, risk analyses and tender documentation while coordinating with managers, engineers and clients to ensure successful outcomes.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years estimating experience, strong software skills, and a keen commercial sense. A civil engineering or construction management qualification and a valid Australian driver's licence

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of proven estimating experience in civil construction or bulk earthworks.
• Proficiency with standard estimating software and MS Project.
• Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to build relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders with strong organizational skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualification preferred; or significant equivalent experience.
• Valid driver's licence and working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As a Estimator, your initial responsibilities will include:

• Leading the preparation, review, and submission of tenders that maximise success and profitability.
• Identifying and assessing new tender opportunities, making informed bid/no-bid recommendations.
• Performing accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimating, and risk analysis.
• Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants to secure the best value and minimise risk.
• Developing construction programs and producing high-quality tender documentation.
• Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure clear communication and project success.

About you

To be considered for this role the successful applicant must have:

• 3-5 years of proven estimating experience in civil construction, bulk earthworks, or related industries.
• Expertise in industry-standard estimating software and Microsoft Project.
• Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously with strong organisational skills.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or significant equivalent experience).
• Valid driver's licence.
• Valid working rights in Australia
