Job summary

Bretts is seeking a Junior or Intermediate Estimator in Brisbane to join the Allkind Joinery division. The role focuses on analysing specifications, quotes, and tenders for customised timber packages. Training will be provided to build technical knowledge and software skills.

You will work with clients, architects and internal teams to coordinate projects and hand off quotes into production, growing alongside experienced colleagues in a well-established timber manufacturing business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience in estimating, preferably in timber joinery or related manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and documentation.
• Comfortable learning new software such as Joinerysoft, AutoCAD, or AWS.
• Current Queensland Driver’s Licence.
• Keen eye for detail, reliable work ethic, and willingness to learn custom timber crafts.

Responsibilities

At Bretts, our Allkind Joinery division is looking for an enthusiastic Junior or Intermediate Estimator who is eager to learn, grow, and build a serious career in specialised timber manufacturing.

You don't need to know every custom joinery detail on day one—we will invest in your training, teach you specialised software, and support you as you build your technical knowledge.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Plan & Specification Analysis: Review site reports, architectural plans, and tender documentation.
• Quoting & Tendering: Prepare quotes, pricing, take-offs, and tenders for custom timber packages.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, architects, builders, and internal teams to coordinate project details.
• Technical Advice & Handovers: Work alongside our experienced team to hand off finalised quotes into smooth production runs.

About You

If you have a foundational estimating background and are keen to level up your skills, we’d love to chat. Ideally, you bring:

• Estimating Experience: Minimum 12 months experience in estimating, preferably in timber joinery or in a related manufacturing/trade sector.
• Plan Reading Skills: Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and documentation.
• Technologically Literate: Comfortable learning new software —experience with Joinerysoft, AutoCAD, or AWS system is highly regarded.
• Licence: Current Queensland Driver’s Licence.
• The Right Attitude: A keen eye for detail, reliable work ethic, and a genuine interest in learning custom timber crafts.
