Job summary

BMI Engineering Pty Ltd in Brisbane's Acacia Ridge facility is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team. You will prepare detailed repair estimates for heavy equipment and liaise with customers on costs and turnaround times.

Based in our workshop environment, you will compile job costings, coordinate with the Workshop Manager and supervisors, answer inquiries, and help build lasting relationships with clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Internal Sales/Estimator role.
• Trade/Technical Background.
• Experience in the Heavy Engineering and Mining Industry.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Organized and great attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for repair of equipment (hydraulic cylinders, pumps, wheel hubs and axle components).
• Liaise with customers on technical, costs and turnaround aspects of work.
• Compile detailed job costings, including labour, materials, machining, and subcontract services.
• Liaise with Workshop Manager/Supervisors regarding repair methods and feasibility.
• Answer phone and email sales inquiries.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Provide support for the Sales & Operations Manager.
