Job summary

Planned Resources in Melbourne seeks a Junior Buildings Sustainability Engineer to deliver design, documentation, reporting and modelling for ESD building services projects. You will work with an established team to service mid to large projects and grow your career.

The role offers exposure to NatHERS, Greenstar and JV3 Section J compliance. Ideal candidates hold a degree in Engineering/Construction/Science and have about 1–2 years in a related ESD role, with strong communication and time

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering / Construction / Science.
• ~1–2 years experience in an ESD / Buildings Sustainability role.
• Experience with energy modelling and understanding building performance.

Responsibilities

The Role

As a Junior Buildings Sustainability Engineer your role will be focused on providing the full range of design, documentation, reporting, modelling and general analysisfor ESD building services projects. You will be working with an established team clients and other key internal stakeholders in delivering mid - large sized projects whilst also gaining increased opportunity to grow your career.

Qualifications & experience

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering / Construction / Science
• Circa 1-2 years experience, demonstrated tenure within an ESD / Buildings Sustainability role

Skills and Experience

• Up to date with some / all of the following ESD Accreditations in NatHERS/FirstRate5/ Greenstar as well as experience with Section J (JV3).
• Understanding of building performance and their thermal ratings.
• Energy modelling experience
• Basic understanding of other building services disciplines such as Mechanical, electrical, fire, etc
• Experience working in a Building Services consulting environment.
• Excellent communication skills, report writing skills, and ability to work across disciplines.
• Strong time-management and personal admin skills.

• Involvement is ESD activities utilising relevant software for analysis
• Have an improvement and growth mind set / attitude to develop with team and assist in achieving company goals
• Adopting new innovation and technology within a Green building environment
• Client liaision / customer service skills
• Liaise with external Associations and Authorities
• Ensure that projects for which you are involved are delivered to client's expectations
• Investigate innovation on every project
• Bring an enthusiasm for 'Green building' and problem solving in the building services space
• Encourage and demonstrate ethical and technically excellent working practices
