Job summary

EBS Consultants is a Sydney energy, sustainability and building regulations consultancy. The team delivers BASIX, NatHERS and ESD reporting for residential and commercial projects from design through to completion.

You will manage your own projects, work with clients and architects, and contribute to high-quality compliance work with support when needed.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in ESD or energy consulting.
• Knowledge of NCC, BASIX, NatHERS, Section J and J1V3.
• Experience with BetterBuildings, IES VE, or DesignBuilder.
• Degree in engineering, construction, architecture or related field.
• Green Star and NABERS experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Current Class C driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review BASIX and NatHERS assessments.
• Prepare and review Section J, J1V3 and ESD reports.
• Do the energy modelling for Section J and J1V3.
• Advise project teams on design, materials and compliance to completion, including site inspections and QA reviews.
• Attend meetings with clients and project teams.
• Write fee proposals and build client relationships.

EBS Consultants is a Sydney energy, sustainability and building regulations consultancy. We have a strong pipeline of residential and commercial projects and want an ESD consultant to help deliver our compliance work.

This role suits a consultant with a solid compliance background who is ready for the next step in their career. You’ll have support where needed as you take on more responsibility.

The Role

You’ll work across our residential and commercial compliance work, including BASIX, NatHERS, Section J, J1V3 and ESD reports for all building types.

You’ll manage your own projects from early design through to completion, working closely with clients, architects and project teams.

• Prepare and review BASIX and NatHERS assessments.
• Prepare and review Section J, J1V3 and ESD reports.
• Do the energy modelling for Section J and J1V3.
• Advise project teams on design, materials and compliance right through to completion, including site inspections and QA reviews.
• Attend meetings with clients and project teams.
• Write fee proposals and build client relationships.

About You

You have at least 2 years in ESD or energy consulting, and you know the NCC, BASIX, NatHERS, Section J and J1V3 well.

You know BetterBuildings, IES VE, DesignBuilder or similar.

You have a degree in engineering, construction, architecture or a related field.

Green Star and NABERS assessment experience is a plus.

You communicate well, and you’re happy to run projects and look after clients.

You hold a current Class C driver’s licence.
