Job summary

Jefferies is seeking an Equity Research Associate/Senior Associate to join its Diversified Financials team in Australia. You will contribute to alpha-generating research across listed financial services companies, building financial models, conducting company and industry analysis, and engaging with clients and management teams.

Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year of buy-side or sell-side research experience, strong modelling and valuation skills, and a collaborative, deadline-driven mindset

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in equity research or related financial services role.
• Experience covering diversified financials, financial services, or related sectors preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, or related field; CFA progress advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support coverage of Australian diversified financials companies (insurers, wealth managers, asset managers, exchanges, fintech).
• Maintain and enhance financial models, sector databases, and valuation frameworks.
• Analyse company financial statements, earnings releases, regulatory filings, and industry data.
• Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and macro trends.
• Conduct fundamental research including financial analysis, earnings forecasting, and investment recommendations.
• Draft company updates, earnings reviews, industry reports, and thematic research pieces.
• Participate in meetings with management, industry experts, and investors.
• Contribute to franchise-building through thematic projects and client marketing.
• Respond to client requests for data, analysis, and bespoke research.
