Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Australia seeks an Associate or Vice President for Equity Research (Insurance & Diversified Financials). You will develop differentiated investment insights, forecast financial prospects with Excel models, and produce high-quality written research for institutional clients.

You will work with the Senior Analyst to cover insurers, wealth managers, asset managers, exchanges, fintechs and other financials across APAC, using advanced analysis and generative AI to identify catalysts

Qualifications

• Experience in Equity Research or related analytical role.
• Understanding of Insurance or Diversified Financials sectors.
• Advanced financial statement analysis and financial modeling capabilities.
• Experience analysing complex financial institutions and regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed financial models, forecasts, and valuation frameworks across the Insurance and Diversified Financials coverage universe.
• Help the team develop use cases for Generative AI across the broader APAC Franchise.
• Analyse company earnings, regulatory developments, capital management initiatives, industry trends and other market developments.
• Develop investment recommendations, earnings forecasts, ratings, and target prices supported by rigorous fundamental analysis.
• Draft research publications including earnings previews and reviews, company updates, sector deep-dives, and industry thought leadership pieces.
• Conduct detailed analysis of key sector drivers including premium growth, claims trends, capital adequacy, ROE, solvency, asset allocation, funds under management, and net inflows.
• Monitor industry developments including regulatory reforms, competitive dynamics, investment market trends, and capital market activity.
• Support institutional client engagement through meetings, conference calls, investor marketing, and responses to client enquiries.
• Build and maintain relationships with company management teams, investors, and internal stakeholders across Sales & Trading and Corporate Access.
• Ensure governance around model integrity, research processes, documentation, and compliance standards.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative research culture.
