Job summary

Coates Dubbo is seeking a mechanically minded Trades Assistant to support the workshop team with cleaning, inspection and minor repairs. You will assist mechanics and electricians and contribute to safe yard operations.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, with forklift license valued. Strong communication, time management and basic computer skills are important as you work across the workshop and yard.

Qualifications

• Experience with equipment maintenance is preferred.
• Current driver’s license is essential; forklift HR license is highly regarded.
• Good verbal communication and basic computer skills.
• Physically fit and aware of safety standards.
• Familiarity with Take 5 risk assessments and JSEA is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and inspection of equipment with some minor repairs.
• Assist workshop mechanics and electricians with repairs.
• Check inbound/outbound equipment and yard spotting.
• Keep workshop, yard and service areas clean and safe.

Job description

Here’s how you’ll be a part of our team

• Monday to Friday roster, 9am start

Responsibilities

As a Coates Trades Assistant (Internally known as Equipment Maintenance Controllers ) at our Dubbo branch, you will be responsible for:

• Cleaning and inspection tasks of equipment including some minor repairs and adjustments and the use of test instruments.
• Supporting role to the workshop mechanics/electricians to enable them to focus on equipment repairs and more complex tasks.
• Check and control equipment (inbound and outbound) as it comes in and out of the yard inclusive of the spotting function.
• Assist in keeping workshop, yard and service area clean, tidy and safe.

What You’ll Bring To The Role
