Job summary

The Australian Turf Club is seeking a permanent part-time Equine Pool Attendant to help maintain a safe, clean Equine Pool at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse. Availability to work Saturdays and Sundays, totaling 10 hours per week, is essential.

Applicants must be confident and experienced with horses. Key duties include assisting horses entering and exiting the pool, carrying out repairs, cleaning, monitoring water quality, and supporting trainers and staff to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

Knowledge of safe handling & storage of pool chemicals.
Knowledge of pool filtration systems and equipment.
Experience handling horses safely and confidently.
Sound knowledge of manual handling techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willing to work weekends and early mornings.

Responsibilities

Assisting horses when entering and exiting the pool.
Undertake repairs, maintenance and cleaning within the Equine Pool and associated areas.
Monitor swimming of horses to ensure activities follow pool guidelines.
Provide assistance to trainers, jockeys, and strappers for a safe working environment.
Maintain water quality by monitoring chemical levels and records.
Vacuuming of pool after each shift.
Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times.
Other ad-hoc duties as required.
