Job summary

Australian Turf Club is seeking an Assistant Racecourse Manager at Rosehill Gardens to lead turf maintenance across the racecourse, training tracks and grounds. You will supervise a large team, implement fertilising programs, and support race-day operations while ensuring safety and high presentation standards.

The role requires turf management experience, strong leadership, exceptional communication and knowledge of WHS.

Qualifications

• Experience in turf management for equine racing and training surfaces.
• Proven supervisory and team leadership abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation.
• Chemicals handling and spraying knowledge.
• Trade certificate or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large team to maintain track, stable complex and grounds.
• Oversee fertilising programs, soil sampling and water testing.
• Monitor chemical usage and advise on safety.
• Support major development projects and track reconstruction with the Racecourse Manager.
• Coordinate barrier set up and manage race-day activities.
• Set daily to monthly maintenance priorities with the Racecourse Manager.
• Promote safety across the organization.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
