CEMX PTY LTD in Sydney is seeking an eager Apprentice to join our growing team. You will gain hands-on experience in decorative and industrial flooring, with formal training through a Certificate III pathway and mentoring for long-term career development.

Working alongside experienced civil engineers and surface preparation specialists, you will learn surface prep, concrete repair, material mixing, and protective coating applications while adhering to WHS/SWMS protocols.

Qualifications

• Australian apprenticeship/training pathway available.
• Interest in decorative and industrial flooring trades.
• Full working rights in Australia required.

Responsibilities

• Surface preparation using floor grinders, diamond tooling and dust extraction.
• Concrete repair including cracking, patching and sealing.
• Material mixing of epoxy, polyurethane cement, polyaspartic, and primers.
• Application of base coats, primers, full-flake systems and topcoats.
• Site management and safety, including dust control and WHS/SWMS adherence.
• Maintenance and safe packing away of equipment after projects.

CEMX PTY LTD is currently looking for an eager and motivated Apprentice to join our growing team in Sydney.

If you have great attention to detail, enjoy hands-on physical work, and want to learn a high-demand, high-paying trade in decorative and industrial flooring, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Working alongside experienced civil engineers and qualified surface preparation specialists, you will gain valuable hands‑on experience, formal training (Certificate III pathway), mentoring, and long‑term career support.

Duties & Responsibilities Will Involve:

• Surface Preparation: Operating floor grinders, diamond tooling, and H-Class HEPA dust extraction systems to prepare concrete substrates.
• Concrete Repair: Chasing cracks, patching, leveling, and joint sealing using epoxy mortars and specialized compounds.
• Material Mixing: Accurately measuring, weighing, and mixing multi-part resin systems (Epoxy, Polyurethane Cement, Polyaspartic, and Primers).
• Application Techniques: Applying base coats, primers, full-flake broadcast systems, and protective clear topcoats using rollers, squeegees, and trowels.
• Site Management & Safety: Setting up dust control enclosures, masking edges, maintaining job site cleanliness, and adhering to strict WHS/SWMS protocols.
• Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning, maintaining, and safely packing away machinery, tools, and company vehicles after project completion.

The Successful Candidate Will Be:

• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking: Ready for early morning starts across Greater Sydney.
• Physically fit: Comfortable with heavy-duty labor (lifting 20-25kg bags/buckets and operating machinery).
• Keen to learn: Enthusiastic about mastering resin chemistry and concrete resurfacing techniques.
• A team player: Honest, trustworthy, and respectful to teammates and clients.

Requirements:

• Valid NSW White Card (General Construction Induction).
• Valid Driver's Licence and reliable personal transport.
• Full working rights in Australia (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid full-work visa).
