Job summary

EnerMech is seeking experienced Welders for upcoming shutdowns and maintenance projects across the Gladstone region in Queensland. As a Welder you will support site teams with welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards.

Ideal candidates hold Australian trade qualifications in Fabrication, Welding, or Boilermaking, with experience in LNG, oil and gas, mining, or heavy industrial environments.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in Engineering – Fabrication, Welding, Boilermaking, or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Welder in shutdowns, maintenance, or project work.
  • Experience in LNG, oil and gas, mining, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Ability to read weld procedures and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance on site.
  • Support shutdowns, planned maintenance, and project scopes across industrial sites.
  • Complete structural, pipework, and plate welding tasks as required.
  • Read and interpret drawings, weld procedures, and job packs.
  • Work safely in line with permits, risk assessments, and site requirements.

This opportunity is suited to trade-qualifiedWelderswith experience in site-basedwelding, fabrication, structural and piping repairs, shutdowns, maintenance, andprojectwork across heavy industrial environments.

About the Role

As aWelder, you will support site teams withwelding, fabrication, repair, andmaintenance activities, helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and torequired quality standardsacross shutdowns, maintenance projects, and industrial work fronts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance activities across site-based work fronts
  • Supporting shutdowns, planned maintenance, breakdowns, and project scopes across industrial sites
  • Completing structural, plate, pipework, and general fabrication welding tasks as required
  • Using welding processes such as FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, MMAW, MIG, TIG, and Stick where required
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, weld procedures, work packs, and technical documentation
  • Completing work safely in line with permits, risk assessments, job plans, and site requirements
  • Working collaboratively with supervisors, leading hands, boilermakers, fitters, riggers, and project teams
  • Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, housekeeping, and efficient task completion
What We're Looking For
  • Australian recognised trade qualification in Engineering – Fabrication, Welding, Boilermaking, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience as a Welder within shutdowns, maintenance, turnarounds, breakdowns, or project work
  • Experience working within LNG, oil and gas, mining, resources, power generation, alumina, refinery, or heavy industrial environments
  • Experience with structural, pipe, plate, carbon steel, stainless steel, or alloy welding highly regarded
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, weld procedures, and job packs
  • Weld test capability and current welding tickets or qualifications highly regarded
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in fast-paced site environments
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Relevant site inductions, Construction White Card, working at heights, confined space, EWP, gas testing, and first aid tickets highly regarded
  • Recent Police Clearance
  • Full Australian Working Rights
