Job summary

Bravus Mining & Resources invites students to join the 2026/2027 Vacation Student Program at the Carmichael mine, offering hands-on exposure across surface mining operations and related business functions. Participants will work with experienced site teams to gain practical experience with equipment, systems and daily mine activities, while contributing to site improvements.

The placement is on a remote site with a fly-in fly-out roster, staying in camp accommodation.

Qualifications

• Currently studying a Bachelor's degree in engineering, surveying or related discipline.
• Standard 11 Surface Coal Induction and Queensland Coal Board Medical are required, plus drug and alcohol screening.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and strong problem solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to surface mining operations, maintenance, mine planning and business support.
• Work with site teams to build hands-on experience with equipment, systems and day-to-day mine operations.
• Contribute to site improvements and business initiatives across the Carmichael site.
• Participate in the remote FIFO placement and camp accommodation arrangements.
• Prepare for a 10–12 week program starting end of November.

Job description

Join Bravus' 2026/2027 Vacation Student Program and gain practical industry experience across our surface mining operations at our Carmichael mine.

Throughout the program, participants will gain exposure to a diverse range of mining and business functions, including surface operations, maintenance environments, mine planning and operational support. There will also be opportunities to contribute to business improvement initiatives across the site.

Working alongside our experienced site teams, you will build practical, hands-on experience with the equipment, systems and day-to-day operations of a working mine.

This placement is on a remote sitewith a fly-in fly-out roster and you will be staying in camp accommodation. Successful applicants will be employed casually for a 10 -12 week program starting end of November.

We are ideally looking for students who are currently based inTownsville,Rockhampton or Mackay. Flights are provided from Townsville, Rockhampton or Mackay. Travel from any other location is at the candidate's own arrangement and expense. The fields we are recruiting for in 2026/27 are:

About You

• Currently studying a Bachelor's degree in engineering, surveying or a related discipline
