This position is due to transition to HealthShare NSW by end of year which means that applicants will become an employee of HealthShare NSW. HealthShare NSW is part of NSW Health and provides Sydney Children's Network and Local Health Districts with state-wide services such as finance, payroll, procurement, food, support services (cleaning and waste), linen, and non-emergency patient transport. All conditions of employment remain the same and are in accordance with the relevant State Award.
The Environmental Services Assistant position will provide support to the nursing team in non-clinical care of the patient regarding patient lifting and transportation. They will be an active team member and support emergency response teams, collection and delivery of specimens, equipment, consumables, restocking of supplies and consumables.
The position will also be required to undertake cleaning and waste duties as assigned, may including general cleaning, terminal cleaning of internal areas and external areas to ensure a high level of cleanliness is provided and maintained in all areas of the hospital grounds to minimise health care associated infections.
