Job summary

Calvary Environmental Services Assistant at Holmesglen Private Hospital in Melbourne is seeking reliable casual staff to help maintain infection-control standards and support patient wellbeing.

You will clean patient rooms, common areas and clinical spaces, follow waste management and linen handling protocols, respond to ad hoc requests, and collaborate with nursing and allied health staff to sustain a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning, housekeeping or environmental services in healthcare or commercial settings.
• Solid understanding of hygiene and infection-control practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage time across a busy facility.
• Flexibility to work across a rotating casual roster.
• Current WWCC or willingness to obtain prior to employment.

Keeping a healthcare environment clean and safe is not background work it is care in action. At Calvary, our Environmental Services team plays a genuine role in patient wellbeing, and we're looking for reliable individuals to join our Melbourne team on a casual basis.

What You'll Be Doing

• Cleaning and maintaining patient rooms, common areas, and clinical spaces to infection-control standards
• Following established protocols for waste management and linen handling
• Responding to ad hoc cleaning requests across the facility in a timely manner
• Working collaboratively with nursing and allied health staff to support a safe patient environment

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in a cleaning, housekeeping, or environmental services role is preferred (healthcare or commercial)
• A solid understanding of hygiene and infection-control practices
