Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Sydney Environmental Impact Assessment team, contributing to EIS projects across transport, energy, water, and industry. You will lead environmental impact assessments, coordinate resources and schedules, and mentor graduates, while building strong client and stakeholder relationships on major NSW projects.

You'll work within a supportive team that values technical excellence, collaboration, and delivering timely, high-quality studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental planning, or environmental engineering with 3+ years relevant work experience, consulting experience desirable.
• Experience in environmental impact assessment across multiple sectors and good industry reputation.
• Strong teamwork, clear written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated project management and delivery skills including time management and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of timely, high-quality environmental impact assessments and related studies.
• Coordinate resources, budgets, and schedules while maintaining delivery quality.
• Mentor juniors, graduates, and interns to support their technical development.
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships with commercial acumen.
