Job summary

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) in NSW is recruiting a Program Officer (Environment Officer Class 8) to design and evaluate education and engagement initiatives that raise awareness of conservation and heritage obligations.

The role focuses on voluntary compliance through evidence-based programs, stakeholder engagement and clear communication. Hybrid work across NSW with travel as required, salary AUD 119,292–134,587 plus super.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting education, engagement, communications or behaviour-change projects.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving capabilities used to inform decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, simplifying complex information.

Responsibilities

• Deliver education and engagement projects within agreed timeframes and priorities.
• Develop communications, educational materials and reports for diverse audiences.
• Support workshops, events and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Analyse data and research to improve program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program outcomes.
• Translate complex regulatory information into clear, accessible content.
