Job summary

RW Corkery & Co in Chatswood, NSW, seeks an Environmental Consultant to join the project delivery team on a full-time basis. You will work with clients across mining, quarrying and construction to deliver environmental assessments and compliant reports.

You will liaise with government agencies and stakeholders, maintain technical knowledge, and build trusted client partnerships while aligning with our values of integrity and excellence.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years experience in environmental consultancy.
• Experience in mining, quarrying or construction sectors is advantageous.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and manage stakeholder communications.

Responsibilities

You'll be a key member of our project delivery team, supporting a diverse range of clients in the mining, quarrying and construction industries throughout NSW.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Consultant to join our team on a full-time basis.

In this role, our new team member will:

• Work with a broad range of clients and technical experts to execute the delivery of large and small projects
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and prepare detailed reports, environmental impact statements, and management plans, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Liaise with government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to address environmental concerns and secure project approvals
• Maintain contemporary understanding of environmental, planning, regulatory and policy requirements
• Build relationships with clients based on authority and trust, providing them with technical expertise, and compliant and innovative client-focused solutions
• Work in collaboration with the wider RWC team to ensure clients are provided with holistic high level technical support
• Align with and complement our core values of acting with integrity, building trusted partnerships, delivering technical excellence and supporting each other to succeed

About You

We are seeking an Environmental Consultant who not only fits the requirements of the role, but who can complement our values, and drive our commitment to quality, environmental integrity and sustainability.

In addition, successful candidates will have/be:

• Tertiary degree/qualification with excellent results in a relevant discipline such as environmental science, geology, soil, ecology, water, engineering, law or related sciences.
• 2-5 years experience in environmental consultancy
• Demonstrated experience in mining, quarrying or construction sectors advantageous
• Experience in delivery of environmental impact statements
• Demonstrated competence with mapping applications such as ArcGIS or QGIS
• Knowledge and familiarity with NSW environmental legislation, regulatory requirements, and approval processes
• Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive working relationships based on trust and respect
• High level written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise documents for clients and other stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect and assess environmental data and recommend effective solutions
• A passion for environmental consultancy within extractive industries, with a proactive and adaptable approach
• Current unrestricted drivers licence and willingness to travel to client sites as needed
