Job summary

Bengalla Mining Company is seeking an Environmental Advisor to support the continued operation of the Bengalla mine in the Hunter Valley. The role emphasizes environmental management, regulatory compliance, and proactive community engagement.

Responsibilities include coordinating monitoring programs, reporting on environmental performance, and directing contractors to ensure site environmental standards are met. Strong NSW regulatory knowledge and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in environmental management or related discipline essential.
• Experience in environmental management for large-scale open-cut mines preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience supervising consultants and contractors.
• Knowledge of NSW environmental regulatory framework.
• Ability to liaise with the community.
• High level computer literacy and mapping software (MapInfo/ArcGIS).
• Civil construction and coal mining experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate environmental activities and monitoring programs.
• Prepare accurate environmental performance reports.
• Assess and respond to community and government environmental complaints and incidents.
• Direct contractors and consultants for environmental tasks.
• Provide assurance and oversight of site environmental compliance.
• Assist with Real Time Environmental Monitoring System management.
• Engage with neighbours and landholders.
