Job summary

Duratec, based at Garden Island in Western Australia, is seeking an Environmental Advisor to implement environmental management plans and drive improvements across Defence and marine scopes on a full-time schedule. The role focuses on CEMP implementation, training, inspections, and EMS deployment to support project delivery.

The successful candidate will have tertiary environmental qualifications, strong regulatory knowledge, and experience in data collection, reporting, and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Experience in site-based construction projects or environmental consulting.
• Knowledge of Defence Estate environmental policies and applicable state/territory regulation.
• Proficient in environmental monitoring, inspections, auditing, data collection and reporting.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks, approval processes, and industrial compliance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to develop internal stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Update and implement Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP's) to support project delivery and environmental compliance.
• Develop and provide environmental awareness programs and training.
• Undertake environmental inspections and oversee the implementation of environmental management measures.
• Drive the implementation of Duratec's certified Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Undertake environmental incident investigations and assist with incident reporting.
• Support project delivery to obtain and maintain compliance with environmental obligations.
• Lead environmental initiatives across the project.
• Support project teams in meeting environmental commitments.
