Job summary

UGL Limited seeks an Environmental Advisor to support a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in regional Queensland. You will provide hands-on environmental management, reporting and stakeholder engagement to meet regulatory obligations.

You will work with project managers, supervisors and subcontractors to promote responsible practices, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance across all construction phases.

Qualifications

• Experience as an onsite Environmental Advisor within renewable energy, power, utilities, infrastructure, or other major project environments.
• Qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline, with knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day environmental support across construction activities, ensuring compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
• Embed and maintain environmental management plans, procedures and documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and environmental monitoring to identify risks and improvements.
• Assist with environmental incidents, investigations and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project teams to promote environmental awareness and drive continuous improvement.

Long-term opportunities with UGL.** Join UGL on the delivery of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project supporting critical data centre infrastructure in regional western Queensland. This is a rare opportunity to be involved from the earliest stages of project delivery through to completion, working on a large-scale construction project that will play an important role in supporting Australia's growing digital and energy infrastructure needs. **Why this role** * Be involved from project commencement through to completion. * Support the delivery of a major BESS and energy infrastructure project. * Work with one of Australia's leading engineering and construction companies. * Join a collaborative project team with experienced HSE and project leaders. * Secure a permanent role backed by UGL's strong pipeline of energy and infrastructure projects. **About the role** Reporting to the Site HSE Manager, you'll provide environmental support across all phases of construction, helping the project meet its environmental obligations while promoting responsible work practices on site. This is a hands-on role combining field-based environmental management, compliance, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
