Working closely with the Restoration Ecologist, you will provide operational and project support for funded initiatives that protect and enhance the natural values of the area. You will help ensure conservation projects are effectively delivered within established project plans, budgets and timelines.

This is a varied and practical role where you will contribute to on-ground conservation programs spanning pest plant and animal management, threatened species protection, ecological process management, fire ecology, and wetland and environmental water management.

You will assist with coordinating and monitoring contractors and service providers, contribute to project reporting and evaluation, and support compliance with funding and contractual requirements. Working collaboratively across Parks Victoria and with Traditional Owners, government agencies, research organisations and community groups, you will contribute to integrated conservation outcomes that protect biodiversity and strengthen ecosystem resilience.

About the Team

The Operations and Delivery Division leads Parks Victoria's on-ground park management operations, including joint management partnerships with Traditional Owners, construction and maintenance of visitor infrastructure and assets, community engagement and education activities, compliance and enforcement operations, conservation programs and commercial facility management. We value innovation, collaboration, and end-to-end accountability for the in-ground management of Victoria's parks and reserves.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, conservation, land management, or a related discipline are desirable.
  • Experience supporting the delivery of conservation or natural resource management programs within operational or multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Practical knowledge of conservation program delivery, including pest plant and animal management, threatened species management, ecological processes, and fire ecology.
