Job summary

HASLIN is seeking an Environment and Sustainability Manager to drive sustainable practices across our civil infrastructure projects. Based in Sutherland or our city office, this permanent, full-time role develops strategies to improve environmental performance and ensure compliance with local regulations.

You will lead environmental initiatives, coordinate with engineering teams, and report on progress while mentoring staff and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental management or sustainability roles, preferably within the engineering sector.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Certifications in environmental management (e.g., ISO 14001) are advantageous.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the HASLIN team, you'll help deliver projects safely, efficiently and to the highest environmental and quality standards. You will:

• Develop, implement and maintain environmental management systems and sustainability initiatives.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering and pre-contracts teams to integrate sustainable practices into project designs and tenders.
• Monitor and report on environmental and sustainability performance metrics and progress towards goals.
• Engage with stakeholders, including local communities and regulatory bodies, to promote environmental and sustainability initiatives.
• Provide training and support to staff members and the wider team on environmental policies and practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes related to environmental sustainability.

About You

You're someone who enjoys solving problems, leading people and delivering projects that make a difference. You'll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in environmental management or sustainability roles, preferably within the engineering sector.
