Job summary

Hazell Bros Group is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor based at our Derwent Park Head Office, Hobart, with frequent travel across Tasmania. You will implement CEMPs, manage permitting, and guide project teams on erosion and sediment controls to meet client and regulatory expectations.

You will report to the Environmental Manager and apply your environmental knowledge across civil infrastructure, quarrying, concrete and industrial works, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in our

Qualifications

• Experience as Environmental Advisor in civil construction or similar environments.
• Strong communication and engagement skills with regulators, clients and teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel across the state for project support.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in fast-paced settings.
• Knowledge of erosion and sediment control practices and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain environmental management plans and project CEMPs.
• Ensure compliance with approvals, permits and licence conditions.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and environmental monitoring.
• Advise project teams on erosion, sediment, water and vegetation controls.
• Investigate incidents, non-conformances and drive corrective actions.

About the Opportunity

Passionate about the environment and continuous improvement? Hazell Bros is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to ensure our practices meet client and legal requirements, ISO 14001 standards and community expectations.

Reporting to the Environmental Manager, you’ll bring proven experience as a Environmental Advisor, applying your knowledge across our diverse operations including civil infrastructure, quarrying, concrete and industrial works.

Based at our Derwent Park Head Office, this role includes frequent travel. To support this, a fully maintained work vehicle for private use (or an allowance if you have a suitable vehicle) and a fuel card are provided.
