Job summary

Bluefin Resources Pty Limited is seeking an experienced risk leader to take the reins on enterprise risk maturity within a leading higher education institution. The role offers genuine ownership of a risk transformation agenda and the mandate to shape how risk is managed across the organisation.

You will provide strategic leadership for the risk function, support senior management on risk appetite, and partner with Internal Audit to embed the Three Lines model.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in risk management within a large, complex organisation.
• Background in Big 4 consulting, mid-tier professional services, or large complex organisations.
• 3+ years in a senior leadership role with ownership of enterprise risk, governance or assurance.
• Sound knowledge of contemporary risk and assurance frameworks and practices.
• Audit experience is an added advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to translate complex risk concepts into clear, actionable advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the risk management function, including the Risk Management Framework
• Support Senate and senior management to determine and maintain the organisation's risk appetite and tolerance settings
• Provide expert advice and assurance across enterprise, operational, reputational, financial, compliance and people risks
• Oversee risk training and workshops that strengthen capability and culture
• Deliver clear risk reporting to senior executives and Senate committees, including top and emerging risks
• Partner with Internal Audit and other second line functions to embed the Three Lines model
• Lead and mentor the Risk team, setting clear priorities and ways of working
• Act as business owner of the GRC system, leading adoption and change management
