Job summary

Westpac Group seeks an experienced Network Engineer to join Enterprise Network Operations in Sydney. You will support highly available services across branch, corporate and international environments, owning incidents, changes and project delivery with a focus on Cisco SD‑WAN, SDA Campus, wireless and ISE.

The role is hybrid and may include after‑hours changes and on‑call duties. You will collaborate with technology teams, service providers and vendors to ensure stability and continuous

Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on experience supporting enterprise network environments across operations and projects.
• Experience with Cisco SD‑WAN (Viptela) and implementing network changes.
• Familiarity with Cisco SDA Campus and DNA Center concepts.
• Hands‑on Cisco wireless, ISE, connectivity and policy troubleshooting.
• Solid routing and switching knowledge (BGP, OSPF, L2/L3, resiliency).
• Understanding of DNS, DHCP, VLANs, interfaces and basic firewall concepts.
• Able to troubleshoot complex incidents and coordinate service restoration.
• Experience delivering controlled network changes with planning and rollback.
• ITIL‑aligned incident/change/problem management with focus on stability.
• Knowledge of network automation using Python or Ansible; Jenkins/Bitbucket is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Hands‑on role supporting highly available network services across Westpac environments.
• Own network issues and changes; collaborate with internal teams, vendors and carriers.
• Contribute to stability and continuous improvement of network services.
• Work across BAU operations, incident recovery, changes and project delivery.
• Participate in on‑call roster and after‑hours changes as required.
