Job summary

SA Health, Flinders Medical Centre, Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, seeks an ENT Surgeon Scientist – Clinical Research Registrar. The role combines one day per week of clinical work with research responsibilities, supported by salary supplementation for research activities and private surgical assisting.

The ENT Advanced Trainee Registrar works with the Department Head and ENT team to manage patient care, participate in teaching, and contribute to research within the unit.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including colleagues and staff, in English.
• Commitment to providing a quality service to patients and families.
• Ability to supervise junior medical staff and teach at all levels.
• Surgical skills appropriate to level of training and contributing to unit care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide ENT clinical services to SALHN patients at high standard.
• Teach medical students and junior staff; conduct research as required.
• Develop outpatient and operative management skills for snoring/sleep apnea and voice/Head & Neck conditions.
• On-call commitments as negotiated within ENT Unit needs.
• Manage theatre lists, equipment, consents, and readiness for lists.
