Job summary

Care Family Practice in Templestowe Lower, VIC, seeks an Enrolled Nurse to join our GP clinic. The role covers nursing care, patient observations, immunisations, wound care, and medication administration under RN or GP supervision.

You will work with a supportive team, enjoy opportunities for training, and contribute to chronic disease management and health education. Full-time, 38 hours per week with salary around $80,000 plus super.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing or AQF Diploma-level qualification.

The ideal candidates should have hands on experience in all the general duties and responsibilities of an Enrolled Nurse.

Position: Enrolled Nurse Salary: $80,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation Employment Type: Full-time (minimum 38 hours per week) Location: Templestowe Lower, VIC 3107.

Task & responsibilities

• Assess, plan and put in place nursing care in line with accepted nursing practice and standards
• Take patient observations (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight, blood glucose)
• Assist with health assessments, including over-75 and diabetes risk assessments
• Help prepare chronic disease management and care plans
• Administer medications, immunisations and vaccinations, and keep accurate records
• Perform wound care, dressings and suture removal
• Perform ECGs, spirometry and other routine clinical tests
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatments and care plans, and report concerns to the GP or registered nurse
• Assist registered nurses, GPs and other team members to coordinate and evaluate patient care
• Assist GPs with consultations, procedures and examinations
• Run patient recall and reminder systems
• Keep patient records accurate and up to date
• Provide health education and preventative health advice to patients
• Follow infection control procedures, including sterilising equipment
• Keep treatment rooms clean, stocked and ready for use
• Manage medical supplies and vaccine stock, including cold chain

Work within the enrolled nurse scope of practice under RN or GP supervision Support the practice’s quality and accreditation requirements

Qualification & experience

• Minimum Diploma of Nursing or equivalent AQF Diploma-level qualification
• At least 1–2 years’ experience as an enrolled nurse, preferably in general practice or primary care
• Experience with immunisations and vaccinations, including cold chain management
• Experience with wound care, dressings and suture removal
• Experience performing ECGs, spirometry and routine clinical observations
• Experience assisting with health assessments and chronic disease management plans
• Current CPR and First Aid certificates
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation procedures
• Experience with practice software such as Best Practice or Medical Director (desirable)
• Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check
• Up-to-date vaccinations in line with healthcare worker requirements
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team and under the supervision of RNs and GPs
