Job summary

St Basil's Homes (SA) seeks an Enrolled Nurse on a casual basis in South Australia. You will report to the Registered Nurse and deliver high-quality care, working independently and in a team within a fast-paced aged care setting.

You will provide medication support, engage with families, and uphold infection control and safety standards while developing your clinical skills and advancing person-centred care for residents.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing with full AHPRA registration (no restrictions).
• Up to date qualifications in First Aid and CPR.
• A warm and empathetic approach.
• Comprehensive clinical knowledge of the ageing process & health and a working knowledge of relevant Aged Care legislation.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; listening, written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive and energetic style with the enthusiasm to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality clinical care to residents in your house area.
• Be responsible for the health and well-being of residents.
• Check medications and undertake medication rounds where required.
• Engage with families and stakeholders to build relationships and trust.
• Demonstrate leadership in infection control, manual handling and care provision principles.
• Model best practices to ensure resident's quality of life is optimised.
• Observe, escalate and document changes to the Registered Nurse.
• Complete simple wound care and administering medication in accordance with policies.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our forward thinking, progressive Aged Care organisation as an Enrolled Nurse, on a casual basis. You will report to the Registered Nurse and will excel in providing exceptional care and service excellence. You will work both independently and as part of a team, thriving in a fast-paced environment where your efforts make a tangible difference to our residents. What You’ll Do And Be Responsible For

• Provide quality clinical care to the residents in your 'house' area, in line with our Model of Care

What You’ll Need To Succeed

It would be helpful if you had (but is not essential to apply for the role):

• 1-3 years experience as an Enrolled Nurse
• Experience working in Aged Care
• A current National Police Certificate (or willingness to apply)
